September Update From Ps Brendan & Ps Helen
August brought an unexpected setback with our building project. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, our builder was unfortunately unable to continue with the project, which meant we had to begin the process of finding a new builder.
While this caused some delay, we’re very thankful to God that we were able to find another builder and quickly begin the quoting process again.
The good news is that we received the new construction quote in early September! 🙌 We are currently working through the details and taking the necessary next steps, with the hope of commencing construction very soon.
Although the journey hasn’t always gone exactly according to plan, we continue to trust God’s timing and leading. Thank you, church, for continuing to pray, believe and give towards our building project. We’re excited about what lies ahead and believe the best is yet to come!

I always feel privileged to invest in church projects. But, that doesn’t mean it’s always easy! Giving usually stretches me beyond what is comfortable.
I felt to contribute a certain amount to the Kingdom Builders Campaign, and I knew it would be a sacrifice. However, soon after giving, I received two different deposits of money into my bank account, both unexpected. God reminded me that everything I have belongs to Him in the first place! It filled me with great joy to see how God responds to our faith.
I’m looking forward to seeing how our financial investments bear fruit, both in this life and for eternity!

Approved: 15 December 2025
Planning & Design
7 June 2026: Received the preliminary concept plans and drawings from the drafter to explore the feasibility of renovating the adjoining building versus a full demolition, with the aim of identifying the most cost-effective solution.
7-26 June 2026: Engaged in extensive consultation with our drafter, engineers, builders, and other industry professionals to carefully evaluate the available options and determine the best long-term approach.
26 June 2026: Following thorough discussions and consultation with our team of experts, the decision was made to proceed with full demolition, as it provides the most practical and sustainable solution for the future.
5 July 2026: Received the next stage of the architectural plans for the original DA-approved full demolition design, with greater detail and precision. Next step: meet with the town planner to ensure everything is in place before proceeding.
9 July 2026: Met onsite with the Town Planner to confirm that the proposed internal and external modifications remain consistent with the original Development Approval and can proceed without planning concerns.
13 July 2026:
• Met with the Certifier, as recommended by the Town Planner, to confirm the proposed Minor Amendments can be certified prior to lodging the Variation Application with Council.
• Architectural drawings are being finalised for submission to Council as part of the Variation Application.
• Engineering drawings are being finalised to obtain final construction quote.
20 July 2026: Met with the architect to fine-tune the layout, including room sizes, the nursing room orientation, and several other design details. We’ve now achieved the best balance of functionality and flow within the available space.
Next step: The updated plans will be sent to the drafter to incorporate the electrical layout and final technical details before lodging the Variation Application and issuing the plans to the builders for the final quotation.
30 July 2026: Awesome news! 🎉🎉 Council has given us the green light for our Variation Application! Approval was granted in just 3 days—an incredible outcome. We are so thankful for God’s favour throughout this process. God is good!
2 September 2026:After an unexpected delay with our previous builder, we’re thankful to have found a new builder and have begun the quotation process again. We’re trusting God for His continued favour as we move forward!
