We never set out simply to build a church - our heart has always been to build a community where people can encounter Jesus, find freedom and discover their God-given purpose.
IT STARTED WITH A CALL
In 1998, Brendan and Helen pioneered Hope Church Adelaide with a simple desire to build a church where people could encounter Jesus, grow in faith and find a place to belong.
What began with a small group of 5 people meeting in their home has grown into a vibrant church family across Adelaide and beyond.
Through every season, one thing has never changed—our heart for people and our belief that God has a great purpose and destiny for every person.

WHO WE ARE
BRENDAN
Spiritual Father • Teacher • Leader
Brendan has a heart to see people discover Jesus, grow in faith and live out their God-given purpose. He loves helping people become what God has created them to be.
He is passionate about building the local church, developing leaders and raising up the next generation of pastors and ministry leaders. A thoughtful teacher with a background in scientific research, Brendan brings together faith, wisdom and a genuine love for people — usually with a good dose of humour along the way. He holds a PhD in Nuclear Physics.
HELEN
Visionary • Pastor • Prophet
Helen is passionate about seeing people encounter God, find freedom and discover the fullness of His purpose for their lives. She loves helping people grow in faith and closer to God.
She loves building people, developing leaders and creating environments where the Holy Spirit can move and lives can be transformed. Alongside leading Hope Church with Brendan, one of Helen’s greatest joys is being Mum to Jessica. She loves family, people and seeing others flourish in every area of life.
